Scrat is best known for being obsessed with acorns, constantly putting his life in danger to obtain and protect them.

Scraty she is fast, clever and determined. She is new but she uses her instints to compete with Scrat. 

Sid is a sloth shown. He is portrayed as clumsy, fast-talking, and unpopular. He accidentally starts a fire in the first film and learns how to do it properly towards the end; he also shows this skill in the second film. In the third film, he adopts a trio of Dinosaurs, and is forcibly taken to the underground dinosaur land by their mother, requiring the others to come and save him.

Manny, or Manfred, is a woolly mammoth. He can be serious, but is otherwise caring and friendly. In the first film, while passing through the icy cavern, the herd discovers cave paintings of mammoths who were killed by paleo-indian hunters; this is an emotional moment for Manny, indicating that the pictures could be him and showing us his history or also indicating that something similar happened. At the end of the film, Manny and Sid return the baby to the neanderthals, with an injured Diego
trailing behind them. He finds love with Ellie in Ice Age: The Meltdown. In Dawn of the Dinosaurs, he has a daughter named Peaches.

Diego is a saber-toothed tiger. He has a somewhat sarcastic personality, although it's usually not intended as malicious. He was sent by his pack to retrieve the human baby; When he found the baby in Manny and Sid's care, he pretended to lead them to the humans, but instead planned to lead them into an ambush by the pack. However, when Manny saved his life Diego changed his mind, telling him about the pack and helping to counterattack. He appeared to have been killed by the pack's leader, Soto, but survived and joined Manny and Sid on their travels. In the second film, he was revealed to suffer from hydrophobia, but he eventually conquered it in order to save Sid, Eddie and Crash. In the third film, he began to fear that he was losing his predatory abilities from being in the "herd" too long, and considered staying in the underground dinosaur world. He changed his mind after managing to save the labored Ellie from a dinosaur attack.

Twenty thousand years ago, the Earth is overrun by freezing temperatures in an Ice Age that is sending all manner of critters scattering in the path of encroaching glaciers. When a lost human infant is discovered, an unlikely quartet of misfits forms to return it to its mother: Manny, a depressed woolly mammoth; Sid, a fast-talking sloth; an acorn-crazed squirrel named Scrat; and the devilish saber-toothed tiger named Diego. Before they can complete their mission, the reluctant compatriots will brave pits of boiling lava, dangerous caverns of ice, and even a traitorous plot within their midst.

Manny, Sid, Diego, and Scrat, are back. Their life change with this new meltdown. The weather brings a new adventure: a big ice is about to melt and is threatening the whole valey. The only chance of survival is to travel to the opposite point.

2009 

After the events of "Ice Age: The Meltdown", life begins to change for Manny and his friends: Scrat is still on the hunt to hold onto his beloved acorn, while finding a possible romance in a female sabre-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Manny and Ellie, having since become an item, are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for when his baby arrives. Diego is fed up with being treated like a house-cat and ponders the notion that he is becoming too laid-back. Sid begins to wish for a family of his own, and so steals some dinosaur eggs which leads to Sid ending up in a strange underground world where his herd must rescue him, while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right, and meeting up with a one-eyed weasel known as Buck who hunts dinosaurs intently.

2011

When Sid accidentally destroys Manny's heirloom Christmas rock and ends up on Santa's "naughty list", he leads a hilarious quest to the North Pole to make things right and ends up making things much worse...

2012

Manny, Diego, and Sid embark upon another adventure after their continent is set adrift. Using an iceberg as a ship, they encounter sea creatures and battle pirates as they explore a new world.
